A classical and contemporary artist with 21 Nocturne Alley and Urjaa Duo, I am passionate about exploring the accessibility of music as a performer-educator. Singing to ’90s Tamil pop and a Texas radio station in my childhood sparked the love for all things music and at the age of 7, I began studying Western Classical violin and Indian vocal music. I was inspired to teach in Hyderabad, my hometown, while attending college and performing with the India National Youth Orchestra. Graduate studies in arts and social sciences led to working as a music therapist for children with autism, after which I took up an M.Phil. in education and disability research at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. I attended masterclasses of the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance in India, and the 7th International Luci Della Ribalta Festival, Associazione Mozart Italia Sede di Terni, Italy. Some of my collaborations include film/regional music albums and musical theatre.
